Mustard Seed Hill is a historic southern event setting located in Millersburg, Kentucky just minutes from the heart of horse country and about 30 minutes from Lexington. This 14-acre property, once home to the Millersburg Military Institute, has been restored to its original glory and upgraded to provide modern amenities for every type of event.

The Allen House

Built in 1852 as a private home for William Nunn and restored in 2017, this 11-room National Historic Landmark makes an immediate statement standing tall at the center of Mustard Seed Hill. The first floor of the house features an event room, billiards room, groom’s quarters and a historic bar. The historic bar area is a stand-alone room that is accessible through the groom’s quarters and billiards room.

The second floor of the Allen House features the bridal suite, honeymoon suite and two guest bedrooms. The bridal suite features multiple vanities, a kitchenette and chaise lounges. The honeymoon suite is said to be the best room in the house, overlooking the entire front yard and terrace. The on-suite bathroom features handmade tile and true-to-history light.

Mustard Seed Hill’s Terrace is an ideal location for a wedding, cocktail hour, reception, or sunset dinner. The Terrace is located directly in front of the Allen House and is adorned with sweetbay magnolias and a hand-tooled bluestone path. This 4,300 square foot area can seat up to 200 guests.

South Lawn
The South Lawn was designed to offer a picture-perfect setting for every event. A beautiful formal lawn with hand-tooled bluestone terraces including a grand entrance and plenty of space that can be set up for large or small parties; this 8,000 square foot area can accommodate up to 500 guests.

Courtyard & East Lawn
For those looking for an evening under the stars or cocktail reception by candlelight, the Courtyard & East Lawn at Mustard Hill offers just that. The East Lawn is accessible from the event room and leads onto the South Carolina-inspired porch. This intimate area can accommodate up to 200 guests and is tentable. The 3,700 square foot area is perfect for guests who are looking for an indoor and outdoor experience.

This beautifully restored gymnasium offers approximately 6,400 square feet of reception space. The gymnasium has been restored to its originality and features:

  • a full basketball court

  • room for two volleyball courts

  • collapsible bleachers that hold 900

  • a stage and sound system

  • theater-style seating for up to 1,000

  • messaging board

Fitness Center
Located on the lower level of the gymnasium, Mustard Seed Hill offers a state-of-the-art fitness center for guests. Our fitness center features 2 custom 850 series half racks, 8 benches, 4 dip attachments, glute ham machine, 45-degree hyper extension machine, functional training system, fitness leg extension/curl machine, 4 fire out stations, 2 lap pull down attachments, 6 jungle gym suspension trainers, true elliptical, 2 true upright bikes, true treadmill, power system treadmill, 2 rogue rowers, 2 tank sleds, dumbbells from 5lbs to 75lbs, kettlebells from 5lbs to 75lbs, slam balls from 10lbs to 25lbs, wall balls from 4lbs to 10lbs, 6 balance trainers and 8 ropes and bands. This is the perfect place to get in a quick workout before your event.

Mustard Seed Hill’s classrooms are available when the academy is not in session. Located on the lower level of the gymnasium, we offer two classrooms and a fellowship hall that can accommodate a range of guests. Classrooms can accommodate up 30-40 guests and the fellowship hall can accommodate up to 75 guests.
