Christmas at Mustard Seed Hill is a spectacular holiday tradition in Millersburg, Kentucky; just 30 minutes north of Lexington in the heart of Bourbon County. This year’s programming includes our breathtaking Light Display, Gingerbread House Exhibit, Artisans Market, Holiday Tent and Cafe, Christmas Campfire & Igloo Reservations, Nativity Carriage Rides, Holiday Homes Tour, Live Music, and more!

7th Annual Gingerbread House Competition & Exhibit

presented by Team Kentucky
Step into a world of edible artistry where the historic Allen House and McIntyre Hall transform into a gingerbread wonderland. From miniature landscapes to towering structures, these masterpieces promise to enchant visitors of all ages. 

Dazzling Light Displays

With new light displays making their debut this year, come experience the magnificent 3-acre Christmas light display, highlighted by a magnificent 30' ribbon tree, 32' glowing ribbon arch, dazzling 20' starburst, Nativity scene, a Christmas sleigh made entirely of Christmas Lights, and more!

The Artisans Market

Presented by Claiborne Farm
Discover the epitome of craftsmanship and creativity at this year's Artisan’s Market. Housed in a spacious 4,000 sq/ft indoor retail store, the market boasts an impressive lineup of over 60 artists showcasing more than 200 handmade products. Whether you're searching for the perfect gift or something special for yourself, you'll find an expansive array of options from handcrafted wooden toys and cutting boards to bespoke pottery and home décor.

Christmas Campfire Reservations

Enjoy a customized basket full of gourmet delights, including hotdogs and buns, kettle chips, refreshing drinks, and a Ghirardelli Chocolates S'mores Kit. It's everything you need to create your own holiday tradition with us. Up to four guests per reservation, 7 years and older.

**NEW** Holiday Carriage Rides

Begin a 30 minute magical carriage ride in front of McIntyre Hall and embark on a delightful ride down Main Street, where you will experience the Christmas Story told alongside custom 8ft tall artwork depicting the Nativity. These one-of-a-kind pieces are handmade by the talented Kaylie Polk of Designs of a Daughter. Can seat 4-5 guests.

**NEW** Historic Holiday Homes Tour

Take a self-led tour through Millersburg's charming historic homes, decorated for the holidays, each rich with history and architectural beauty. Conclude your journey at the Allen House, a jewel of Mustard Seed Hill, where history and elegance come together.

  • Can I tour the venue?
    Yes, you can setup a tour of the Allen House and grounds with a Mustard Seed Hill staff member. To set up a tour give us a call at (859) 685-2190 or complete our contact form.
  • Are there any food, beverage or alcohol restrictions?
    All food and beverage service must be provided by an ABC licensed caterer that is pre-approved by Mustard Seed Hill.
  • Am I required to use your preferred vendors?
    Currently we are open to reviewing any and all vendors that you are interested in using for your event needs. All vendors must be pre-approved prior to the event date.
  • Can you host overnight events?
    Mustard Seed Hill and the Allen House offer guests overnight accommodations. Please contact us for more information on our Bed and Breakfast located on campus in McIntyre Hall or about one of our airbnbs near campus.
  • What are some things to do in the surrounding area?
    Mustard Seed Hill is located a quick 30 minutes outside of Lexington and 10 minutes outside of Paris. If you are looking for something close, you can take a tour of Claiborne Farm, Adena Springs, Hopewell Museum or Cane Ridge Shrine. You can also enjoy an afternoon on the links at Houston Oaks Golf Course. Antiquing and a light bite can be had at Lil’s Coffee House. For the outdoorsy type visit Central Kentucky Kayaking for a day on the water, Blue Licks Battlefield State Park for hiking or Moss Landing for horseback riding. Interested in bourbon country?
